Care and User Manuals
This page provides clear instructions for using and maintaining your watch. This page is divided into two sections: the User Manual, which provides step-by-step instructions for operating and maintaining your watch, and the Care Recommendations, offering guidance to keep your timepiece in top condition.
By following these instructions, you can ensure both optimal performance and extended durability.
User Manuals
The User Manual section provides clear, step-by-step instructions on how to use and set up your watch. It covers everything from adjusting the time to understanding the features and functions of your movement.

Care Guidelines
The Care Recommendations section offers essential tips for maintaining and prolonging the life of your watch. It includes advice on cleaning, storing, and handling your watch to keep it in optimal condition. Following these guidelines will help preserve the appearance and functionality of your timepiece for years to come.
Recommended Service Intervals
Your Söner watch is a finely tuned instrument, designed for continuous use. To ensure its precision and water resistance are maintained, regular servicing is necessary. The frequency of service depends on the usage and environment in which the watch is worn.
Factors such as frequent use of the crown, shocks, exposure to perspiration, cosmetics, or temperature fluctuations can affect the watch’s water resistance.
Water Resistance
All Söner watches are water-resistant to a minimum of 5 ATM (the Momentum 10ATM). Your watch is designed to withstand everyday conditions like rain, showers, swimming, and snorkeling (the Momentum are fit for scuba diving). However, avoid high-pressure water sources like car washers or gardening equipment, as well as intense water sports that could cause impact damage.
Over time, gaskets may degrade, reducing water resistance, which is why we recommend regular water resistance check.
When wearing your watch underwater, ensure that the crown is securely closed (pressed down). If you notice condensation inside the watch, please contact us.
Winding Your Watch (Automatic Models)
An automatic watch winds itself through the movement of your wrist. The power reserve for our automatic watches is 42 hours. If the watch has not been worn for several days, we suggest winding it manually with about 20 clockwise turns of the crown to restore optimal functionality.
The efficiency of self-winding depends on wrist movement. If there is insufficient motion, the watch may stop even when worn. To ensure it continues to run smoothly, wind it manually every so often.
If your watch has not been worn for months, regularly wind it to keep the movement’s oils from congealing or flowing unevenly.
Handling the Crown
To maintain water resistance, always ensure that the crown is pushed down after use. This will protect the movement from humidity and prevent water from entering the case.
Shocks and Vibrations
While Söner watches are designed to withstand normal day-to-day shocks, avoid heavy impacts or frequent vibrations, which can damage the movement.
Battery Replacement (For Quartz Models)
The battery life for our quartz watches ranges from 3 to 11 years.
If the second hand begins to jump every four seconds, on models that have a second hand, it's an indicator that the battery needs to be replaced. Always have the battery replaced by a certified professional who will also check the watch’s water resistance and overall condition.
Protection from Magnetism
Avoid placing your watch near strong magnetic fields, as they can affect its accuracy. Electromagnetic sources include devices like smartphones, handbags clasps, computers, hair-driers, electric razors, and other everyday items that emit magnetic fields.
Temperature and Chemical Exposure
Avoid exposing your watch to extreme temperatures (above 60°C/140°F or below 0°C/32°F) or sudden temperature changes. Also, avoid contact with solvents, detergents and other chemicals that can damage the case, straps, or gaskets.
Cleaning and Maintenance
For cleaning your watch, use a soft toothbrush with warm soapy water. After cleaning, rinse it carefully with fresh water and dry it with a soft cloth. We recommend cleaning your watch after swimming in saltwater or chlorinated water.
Before cleaning, ensure the crown is securely closed to protect against water damage.
Strap Care
The lifespan of leather straps depends on wear conditions, such as skin acidity, perspiration, exposure to sunlight, water, and cosmetic products. Leather straps should be kept dry and away from harsh conditions like sports or water exposure.
How It All Started
Freddie Palmgren, the visionary behind Söner Watches, set out on a mission to break away from the conformity of round watches. Motivated by the question, "Why do all watches look the same?" and fueled by a passion for innovation.
Years ago, he embarked on a quest to find a watch that symbolized excellence and uniqueness. He quickly realized the watch industry was saturated with round designs, lacking the diversity he craved. Recognizing an opportunity for change, he set out to break the 100-year-old round-watch norm.
His vision was clear: to offer something fresh and compelling to watch enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
