Why a 10-Year Warranty
The standard watch industry warranty is 2 years. Rolex offers 5 years. Most fashion watch brands offer 2 years. Söner offers 10 years because the watches are built to last longer than that, and the warranty is the most direct way to demonstrate that confidence to a buyer before they have experienced the watch for themselves.
A 10-year warranty is also a statement about how the brand views the relationship with its customers. Most watch purchases are made once and then worn for years without ever needing to contact the brand. The warranty is rarely used. But knowing it exists, and knowing that it is genuinely available for a decade rather than expiring after two years, changes the quality of confidence a buyer has in the purchase. That confidence is the point.
Every Söner watch also ships with a unique serial number engraved on the caseback and a warranty card. Keep both. The warranty card and proof of purchase are required to make a warranty claim.
What the Warranty Covers
The 10-year warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship. If a component of the watch fails due to a manufacturing defect within 10 years of purchase, Söner will repair or replace the watch free of charge. This includes movement defects, case defects, and dial defects that arise from the production and assembly process rather than from use or handling.
The warranty is international. It applies regardless of where you purchased the watch or where you are located when the issue arises. Contact the customer service team with your warranty card and proof of purchase and the process begins from there.
If the specific model you purchased has been discontinued by the time of a warranty claim, Söner will offer a replacement of equal or greater value from the current range.
What the Warranty Does Not Cover
Not Covered
- Battery life on quartz models
- Normal wear and tear including scratched crystals from daily use
- Changes to leather, textile, or rubber strap colour or texture over time
- PVD coating wear from daily contact
- Damage from impacts, drops, crushing, or cracked crystals from accidents
- Damage from misuse or exposure beyond the stated water resistance rating
- Service or repairs performed by non-authorised persons
- Modifications to the watch outside of Söner's control
Covered
- Movement defects affecting timekeeping accuracy
- Case manufacturing defects
- Dial defects from production
- Crown or stem defects not caused by misuse
- Water ingress within the stated water resistance rating under normal conditions
- Any component failure attributable to materials or assembly quality
On battery replacement: Battery replacement is a routine maintenance item, not a warranty claim. It is not covered by the warranty. However, battery replacement by a non-authorised watchmaker will not void the warranty provided the case is correctly resealed and the watch is not altered in any other way. For the Nostalgia collection, the Swiss ETA 901.001 battery lasts 11 years, so battery replacement is unlikely to arise within the warranty period.
How to Make a Warranty Claim
Contact the Söner customer service team at sonerwatches.com/pages/contact with your order number or warranty card and a description of the issue. The team will assess whether the issue is covered under warranty and guide you through the next steps. If the watch needs to be returned for inspection or repair, shipping instructions will be provided.
Söner aims to resolve warranty claims as efficiently as possible. Repair or replacement is provided free of charge for all issues covered under the warranty terms. The warranty period does not restart after a repair or replacement unless Söner specifies otherwise at the time of the claim.
The 10-year warranty does not affect your statutory consumer rights under applicable law in your country of residence. Your legal rights as a consumer apply independently of and in addition to this warranty.
