About women's tank watches
A women's tank watch isn't a different watch - it's the tank shape in a size that suits a smaller wrist. Our 40×28mm cases give you the full rectangular tradition without overwhelming the wrist, whether you want the slim quartz Nostalgia or the self-winding Amorous. At 7mm thin, the Nostalgia slips under a cuff the way a dress watch should, while the Amorous adds a mechanical movement and a date for everyday wear.
Finding a tank watch for women under $500 usually means choosing between fashion-quartz pieces that capture the look and watches actually built for it. Söner sits on the right side of that line: Swiss and Japanese movements, sapphire crystal, and 800HV hardened steel - around four times more scratch-resistant than the 316L steel most brands use - from $385. For a gold tank watch, the brushed-gold Amorous Milano carries the same proportions in a warmer finish.
If you're still deciding on the style itself, our guide to what a tank watch is covers the history and proportions, and you can see the complete range on our tank watches collection. Söner is the world's only brand dedicated exclusively to rectangular analog watches.

"It’s not a copy of the past. It’s an evolution of the form."

This is the beginning of a new chapter for Söner, the creation of our first ever classic Tank Watch. A watch born from proportion, angles, and precision.
A watch that unites 1920s Art Deco elegance, the clean lines of modern Swedish design, and the precision of Swiss heritage.
Look closely and you begin to see the details. The baton hands are broad, solid and sharply defined, resembling the silhouette of tank cannons. At exactly 12 o’clock, their alignment creates an especially striking impression: two black barrels pointing toward the top of the dial, like the twin guns of an armoured machine ready for action.
Then there is the case.
Its distinctive construction takes inspiration from the caterpillar tracks of a tank. The brancards (vertical parallel case flanks) is deliberately rounded on the top and flat at the bottom, creating a visual profile reminiscent of the individual sections of a tank track. This gives SÖNER Tank a more mechanical, robust presence and strengthens the resemblance to the real engineering of an armoured vehicle.
At the heart of the design is a detail you almost don't notice at first: the hidden crown.
By concealing the crown within the case architecture, SÖNER Tank preserves an unusually clean and symmetrical silhouette. Nothing interrupts the armour-like geometry. From the front, the case becomes a single, disciplined form, much like the uninterrupted surfaces of an armoured vehicle.
And finally, the "gun turret".
The raised upper structures draw inspiration from the gun turret of a tank. They frame the watch from above, giving the case its distinctive vertical architecture and completing the connection between the watch and the machine that inspired it.
Where the classic Tank draws its character more from elegance, architecture and Art Deco restraint, SÖNER Tank looks toward steel, armour, machinery and military engineering.
SÖNER Tank.
Wear the difference.

Women's tank watch FAQ
Common questions about tank watches for women and the Söner range
A case around 28–35mm wide flatters most smaller wrists. Our 40×28mm models sit comfortably in that range, giving classic tank proportions without bulk.
Yes. The tank is a classic in both men's and women's watches - the same models work across wrists, with the 40×28mm cases being the most popular choice for a smaller fit.
Quartz is thinner and lower-maintenance, which many prefer for daily wear; automatic is mechanical and self-winding. The Nostalgia covers quartz, the Amorous covers automatic.
It's the same family - this page focuses on the tank silhouette specifically. For the full women's range across every style, see our women's rectangular watches collection.
Under $500 you're mostly choosing between fashion-quartz watches that capture the tank look and watches genuinely built for it. The Söner Nostalgia sits just at that line from $385 - a Swiss-style quartz movement, sapphire crystal, and 800HV hardened steel rather than the mineral glass and soft cases typical at this price. For a little more, the automatic Amorous adds a mechanical movement and a date.
Yes. The brushed-gold Amorous Milano carries the same 40×28mm tank proportions in a warm gold finish with a black dial - the natural choice if you want the gold Cartier Tank look without the Cartier price.

Rectangular watches are not a variation of round design. They are a different design philosophy.
