Söner Watches Goes Automatic | Introducing Our First Automatic Collection

Söner Watches is going Automatic

This is a significant achievement for SÖNER. For several years, Our Legacy has been a best seller. What's not to appreciate about a watch that's square, masculine on the wrist, and has dazzling dials? We've had several requests for an automated version of our quartz watch throughout the years. Over the last few years, the number of requests has progressively climbed. So, we decided it was time to develop a SNÖER Momentum, but we wanted to do it correctly, so we took our time and thought about everything.

A man in a white shirt and light pants, wearing a green rectangular watch, sits pensively with hands clasped, looking down at a chessboard. The setting appears to be indoors with a warm, soft light.

We knew we wanted to maintain the design as similar to our quartz version, the Legacy, as possible from the start. Its square form and nice dimensions are popular. It was just this time that it was required.

It was time for a mechanical watch

Only this time, it had to include an automated movement, and we also felt the need to improve on a few other aspects. The redesigned casing still has a 100-meter water-resistance rating, so you won't have to worry about dropping the Momentum in the water. The Miyota cal. 9039 movement, which is ultra-slim and high-beat, allowed us to retain the watch at only 11mm high without losing durability. The SÖNER Momentum has an ultra-hard sapphire crystal as standard, and the 5 layer anti-reflective coating on the inside glass guarantees that it is as transparent and durable as you would expect from a SÖNER watch. All of the hour markers are painted with Swiss C3 Super-LumiNova lume.

A person in a gray sweater and dark pants is holding a black bag in their left hand. They are wearing a sleek, rectangular watch in black and silver. The background is plain white.

The hands were also given a lot of thought. We squared off the end of the hour and minute hands because it was crucial to be able to see the time at a glance, with the hour and minute hands clearly discernible, during the day or in the dark. We  kept the arrow to the second hand's end. The silver frames provide dimension to the hands while still complimenting the overall design. The hands, like the markers on the dial, are filled with C3 Super-LumiNova lume for exceptional luminosity. We have marked the Momentum model name on the dial to identify it from its quartz cousin, and installed a custom-made crown with our logo imprinted on it to bring it all together.

The movement

The choice of automatic movement was simple. We feel that no movement at this price point delivers more bang for your buck than the Citizen Miyota 9039 series. It has a 42-hour power reserve, a high beat (28,800 BPH), and 24 jewels, which make it dependable and easy to maintain. While it is one of the priciest "production" Japanese movements, it is much less costly than any Swiss competitor with comparable characteristics.

A person wearing a white button-up shirt adjusts their collar. They have a brown leather watch with a rectangular black face on their wrist. The background is a plain, neutral color.

We're excited to offer numerous custom made strap choices for the SÖNER Momentum Automatic, thanks to a new strap manufacturer. Because most of our watches are worn by men, we can now proudly announce that our genuine leather straps will now come in two sizes, one for wrists above 20cm/7.87in and one for wrists under 20cm/7.87in.

"This watch is significant for us since it adds a new dimension to our brand and collections."
